----Subject Investigations Report-----
Name: Blake Riina Kildal Age: 16 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Half Caucasian, Half Pacific Islander Hometown: Baltimore, MD Occupation: Student Characteristics: Sane Placement: Non-patient
Personality: Blake is, to be simply blunt, the sweetest person you could ever meet. She can never say anything bad about anyone, not even her own mother and stepfather, and has a tendency to be nurturing and caring towards those she takes a liking to. She doesn't do things out of spite, never holds grudges, and will never once complain about something.
With the glowing exterior and her seemingly angelic first meeting, it hides underneath something that is far different. Blake has been beaten so much in her life and abused, had mind games played with her that there is something else under there. She is painfully shy, running away from attention, melting into the background and even managing to sometimes become wholly invisible while standing in front of one person. She is submissive to the point of she will agree to doing anything that someone tells her simply to avoid confrontation and a potential beating.
With the submission lies a placid facade, knowing that whatever she does will never be enough for her mother, but there is a stubbornness underneath it all that won't let her mother kill her despite everything that is done to her. She is the girl who often is locked out of her house and ends up in the wrong parts of town, drifting through as if she doesn't exist and walks on another plane. She is stubborn in her own way, in that she fully believes what her mother has told her, that she is worthless, a piece of garbage, and she can never do anything right.
With all that has been happening to her, Blake has fallen into the clutches of her severe depression, the self mutilation that consumes her at times. Her arms are covered with the scars of it as she feels that everything is her fault and suffers from misguided guilt that she will never amount to anything and everything horrible that happens around her was caused by her. In and of this, she cannot make a decision involving others without causing herself harm because she does not want to make a choice and thus displease them and end up with herself being beaten. She will chew her lip to the point of blood, pull her hair out, scratch marks into her arms, all while trying to figure out what the proper course of action is, regarding the other person.
Her silence is probably what suffers others the most. The girl will not speak unless she absolutely has to, and when she does, it is heartbroken and despondent and her expression is that of ultimate betrayal. She will not cry, though, due to her mother's beatings that if she cries, she suffers more. There is not much that Blake is afraid of in life, yet she portrays a shy, innocent girl who is skittish of everyone and perhaps yet she is. Blake has the naivety of a small child, never relating things to sex or sexual relations unless explained, has no interest in sleeping with others or doing what the mainstream girls her age do.
Nay, even if Blake were to consider sleeping with someone, it would not end well. She has horrible body issues, as is she suffers from malnourishment from her mother. It is relatively easy for one to count her ribs or vertebrae, looking as if she is anorexic by choice, but it is that she is not and must suffer through her mother's games in order to eat. Blake always has the look of someone being haunted or as if she will die at any moment, provided someone looks at her.
Blake herself has trouble connecting with others. She suffers from an ability to either not connect with those that are trying to help, instead diffusing the attention elsewhere and drifting off into oblivion and falling between the cracks of the system, no one seeming to notice her pattern. She makes an easy target for abuse as she never fights back and will not tell on her attackers, instead even sticking up for them or lying about everything and making it all seem like it is her fault. She has never once been told any better than she should not make trouble and her attitude that is if it happened to her, she provoked it somehow.
Appearance Height: 5 feet. Weight: Anywhere between 80-95 pounds, depending how recently she ate. Eye: Blue Hair: Blonde, waist length, usually worn loose
Blake is a tiny little thing, appearing almost as a fairy and just as delicate. She is rather frail when it comes down to it all, but she can take a beating and not complain about it. She has long, waist length dirty blonde hair that she normally wears loose around her body and uses it as a shield to hide in situations where she is uncomfortable. Her clothes are normally quite baggy, almost falling off her slender frame and not showing any skin past her wrists. She never wants to show anything because she has scars covering her body from the abuse. Her most noticeable one, if she ever picks her head up to look you in the face, is a scar across her throat where her mother tried to strangle her with wire.
She has bright blue eyes and a slight tan, giving her a golden look from her heritage of being half Hawaiian on her mother’s side. She favors dark clothes, making her look like a little ghost as she floats through life, content to sit in the background and out of the vision of everyone.
Physical Condition:[PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND PRACTICES]- [SUB-CAT 1]
Vocalist. One of Blake’s few talents is that she is an amazing and talented vocalist, able to recognize the simple melodies of a song quickly and harmonize with just about anyone. She has an impressive range, when she chooses to utilize it, and she sounds as if she has had years of professional training, but it just falls under a raw, natural talent.
- [SUB-CAT 2]
Musician. Blake is also an accomplished musician, mastering instruments during her times that she is locked out of the house. She first started learning piano, and now can compose her own music as well as play and tune the vast majority of instruments she comes in contact with through her work at the music store and offer lessons as well to those who are involved. Her list of instruments she plays exceedingly well are: Piano, Harp, Guitar, Flute, Organ, Bass Guitar, Clarinet, and Drums. She is currently learning the bass clarinet, trumpet, trombone, electric guitar, bagpipes, oboe, bassoon, and saxophone.
- [SUB-CAT 3]
Cooking. Blake may not be the best chef in the world, but at least she can make some pretty awesome baked goods. She has a sweet tooth for things with sugar, probably because her energy is so low, but she makes some amazing cookies for people she likes and delivers them in cute little packages. She also learned to make some pretty healthy foods in a variety of ways and settings.

History[CHARACTER BACKGROUND] Blake was born on Valentine’s Day to Robert and Margaret Kildal. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland and lived there for her first few months. Things were stable enough, though unhappy with Margaret’s depression and Robert soon departing for a tour. Margaret was alright with Blake so long as Robert was around, though she was more or less indifferent to the baby, Robert loved and adored his newborn daughter. Unfortunately, Robert was soon shipped off to a remote location for a tour of duty and he died there from a roadside bomb. News was relayed back to Margaret, who, at the time, had already begun an affair with Blake’s stepfather, James.
James and Margaret moved to Hawaii after the death of Robert and when Blake was about six. A few years later, they moved again, back to the mainland and live in the suburbs playing a happy little family. Blake can pretend everything is fine and wonderful in public, but behind closed doors, nothing is safe anymore. It is not unusual for her to show up with bruises and bumps and broken bones from the abuse, and some days she doesn’t show up at all. She lives in a room about the size of a closet with a lock on the outside and no light, her entire life fits in the messenger bag she carries with her everywhere.
Margaret has always been creative with ways to abuse the baby that she views as having ruined her life. Margaret never wanted Blake but Robert convinced her to keep the baby and now it’s more of a hassle to get rid of Blake than it would have been to get the abortion or fake the miscarriage. Not to say Margaret hasn’t tried to kill Blake or leave her somewhere, but too many questions would be raised, so she settles into breaking her daughter, a mirror image of her. Blake herself is sweet and gentle to everyone she meets, regardless of how they may act to her and suffers through Margaret’s constant abuse. She has been known to inflict damage on herself if she perceives something as wrong or upsetting to someone else or if in distress.
Margaret has took all independence away from Blake, playing mind games and survival games with Blake so she has to figure out how to get food, especially if the food is supposed to last her a week. Blake shows up at school to eat if she can and works at the music store in order to make a little bit of money to leave her mother when she knows she will be kicked out at 18. Though Blake thinks absolutely nothing of herself, she is happy to divert attention from herself onto others through simple words or gestures and actions, hiding behind her hair all the time to never once show up where she is expected.
Life at home behind closed doors has never been easy. CPS was called once, there Blake learned her name and birthday and managed to sneak a copy of her social security card and other identifying papers that Margaret had hoarded. Before then, she was subject to being called “it”, “Piece of shit” and other derogatory names. Physical abuse started when she was born, having burn marks on her upper thighs from Margaret stubbing out cigarettes on her when she was an infant. Her mother also tried to suffocate her with a pillow and has told Blake how unwanted she is, but yet at the same time can seem sweet and caring, all to keep her daughter guessing. Blake unfortunately does not know how to leave her mother despite all of the abuse and will never admit that it is what happens despite the obvious evidence that mounts against her mother.
