what i spend most of my time doing

So I'm going to put up some pictures of some of the metalworking/jewelry work I've done. I'm a student, so obviously they're not perfect. Also, try to imagine how long it took to make, and then double it at least; metal doesn't like to be rushed.

Here is the final project I just finished, a pair of nonfunctional lockets


A closeup on the first one


The two halves of the locket are hinged facing away from each other, so they can never close and act as a proper locket.


The second locket


The inside of the second locket; this one is hollow-formed, leaving no place for anything to be put inside the locket.


They're both made from copper which was die-formed, cut out with a jeweler's saw, soldered to the adjoining parts (including the hinges) and then dipped in liver of sulfur, which oxidizes the metal, giving the almost-black finish.

I'll put up more of my work once I have decent images.

Holy crap, those are impressive, I like the concept, too.
.... Only I'm the turd who would glue pictures into them anyways.
