----Abnormal Research Report-----
Name: The Attendant (Valtiel to those close to him) Age: Unknown Gender: Male-type Ethnicity: Unknown Origin: Unknown
Personality: The Attendant is a fairly unobtrusive creature. Obedient and mostly silent, he spends a good deal of his time crouched in the shadows and fiddling with valve wheels or whatever random items he can get his misshapen hands on. It is very difficult to pin an exactly personality on this entity, but he is a good listener who rarely pipes up with an opinion of his own, but he is wont to creep off into the shadows for extended periods of time and not be found. It is never clear what he is doing, but so long as it does not interfere with other aspects of daily life, nobody really needs to know.
Valtiel does provide counsel, to an extent. Every so often he will return from his meanderings with tools or texts; inspiration for the next stage of whatever plots he is privy to, but he never has a full story or plan to elaborate upon. It is as if he is a messenger or conduit for other forces to work through, which suits him just fine.
Appearance
Perhaps if he stood upright, he would stand at about five to six feet tall, depending on his slouch, but he often spends the majority of his time in the shadows or clinging to walls like a horrible corpse-shaped tree frog. He has no discernible face, but perhaps under those ancient wrappings there may be some collection of humanoid features. He searches around as if he is a blind creature, and rightly so. In the dark and dank places where he resides, there is little need for eyesight, just a damn good assortment of other senses.
The Attendant has a thin but muscular build, with strong arms and bent legs under his sack of a uniform- or is it flesh of some sort? Perhaps that is best left unknown. Being the unnatural entity he is, his appearance is disconcerting. The skin on his arms and wrists seems to have peeled away like an old husk, exposing the dark muscles and whitish structures beneath. He wears glove-like skin on his misshapen hands, rough and calloused on the palms and fingers and those grasping structures attest to the strength he wields. Even if he seems to be a quiet, relatively peaceful creature, to get on the wrong side of that strength would be a fatal mistake.
This entity creeps around so deep in the shadows that it is rare to catch a glimpse of his full size, and he often finds vents or holes to hook himself into. Like a creeping roach on the wall, he slithers in and out of sight, doing who knows what in the secretive confines of the disused underbelly of the old asylum. He is unnerving to come across, but may not be the most blatantly dangerous beast one could come across.
Abilities:[ABILITIES]
[/b] - Valtiel is capable of creeping across nearly any surface, but he largely prefers to camp out on the ceiling or in the dingy holes in the walls. He is most like a human-shaped spider, resting in forgotten nooks and seemingly watching the world from his perches, then scurrying out of sight the moment one looks away. [li] Silent Muse - Despite never speaking, Valtiel has a gift for arriving at opportune times before a major event, often with a snippet of information or a clue about what to expect. Similar to the Mothman that precedes drastic events, Valtiel often appears in strategic places, sometimes toting a symbol that a thinking mind can put into order with the events that occur. [/li][li] Visions- Perhaps this is not entirely under his direct control, but those who are sensitive to the workings of the other realms have reported dreams about his skulking visage as he creeps about rotting walls and traverses through the worlds of the living and the dead. Unintentionally, his presence may create the slightest of rips in the fabric of reality, and those already at the brink of insanity have a glimpse of the worlds he travels between. Perhaps he will notice a voyeur here or there, but like all interactions, he does not venture to engage them unless otherwise ordered to. [/li][/ul] Character Accessories:His misshapen hands hold a strength that would be surprising to one caught unaware. He carries no additional weapons, but to get on the wrong side of his graces could prove fatal. ASSOCIATIONS- Friends: The Good Doctor
- Enemies:
- Rivals:
- Lover(s): Let’s not think about that.
- Relatives: Pyramid Head (?)
HistoryHow Valtiel came to be and why he exists is yet unknown, but there are rumors of a deserted town hidden hidden in the American Appellation Mountains that held an entity similar to him. This being, along with the reputed Mothman, share a tendency to precede major events. Perhaps he is from another realm; perhaps he is a dark prophet that proclaims a flood of darkness, perhaps he is a silent sentinel that warns the doomed before it is too late. Perhaps he is a shadowed muse who tells half-truths and leads men away, or perhaps he does not exist anywhere but for the twisted psyche of the damned and guilty. [ADDITIONAL INFORMATION]He has taken up residence in the old floors of the Belkane Asylum for the Criminally Insane, it seems. Referral[HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT M.o.D.] You know this answer.
