We, here at M.o.D, strictly enforce a free-form and fun environment in which you, the player, can enjoy to the fullest of your imagination's satisfaction. However, with the giving of certain freedoms, there will be the presence of aspects that can ruin a fun-filled environment. Therefore, in an effort to preserve freedoms and eliminate the unsightly presence of such fun-annihilating factors, we, the staff, have established a set of rules that all must abide by.

-----General Rules-----
Rating -This site is rated PG-13.- Although we do not condone or encourage the presence of alcoholism, sexuality, gore, murder, lewdness, etc, we do not prohibit it within the boundaries of Role Playing. Player discretion is advised.
Activity- Activity checks will be administered once a month.
- If you make the decision to join this site, and we hope you do, please make an honest effort to remain active if at least in the CBox.
- If for some reason you will be absent for an extended amount of time, let us know here.
- Accounts inactive for more than a month will be deactivated unless notified of prolonged absence.
cBox/OoC- No racism - Respect toward fellow men.
- No prejudice - We are all created equal.
- No religious slander - We all have the freedom to believe what we choose.
- No sexuality - The presence of minors must be acknowledged.
- No trolling - You will be banned without warning.
- No arguments/drama - Take it up in the PM/Inbox.
Multiple Accounts- Separate characters must be be given individual accounts: this helps clear up some confusion and allows for better character trafficking.
- Please make sure that all accounts are given proper names and accompanying capitalization. For example: John Doe.
-----Role Playing-----
Plot- M.o.D's plot, and central storyline, revolves around the mind pertaining to those of whom society deems "unusual." That is, the insane, estranged, and the like. This is NOT a PvP (Player vs. Player) oriented role play and therefore there is an extremely dim spotlight on character abilities. A more in depth explanation is found here.
Characters- Please be original and as detailed as possible when filling out the creations template. Although canons (from outside sources such as video games, movies, books, and T.V shows) are accepted, we ask that you present these characters with integrity and truthfulness to their original design while being willing to implement flexibility and adaptability toward this site's environment, story, setting, and plot.
- Example: Cloud Strife cannot be from Nibelheim, in accordance to this site's story, rather he can be adapted and presented as being from New York. (All mentions of magical abilities, cloning, enhancements, and other such will thus be eliminated).
- Having said that, created and canon characters cannot exceed a measure of "super-naturalism." Characters exhibiting abilities that are too over-the-top will be denied and asked for a revision. The staff will help with ideas if needed. Remember, we aim to present a realistic story with certain aspects that are not-so realistic, yet within certain parameters.
- Refer to the God Mode section below.
God Mode- Do not take control over a character not belonging to you.
- Do not assume absolute invincibility when creating a character. That being said, all characters created here on M.o.D MUST have a set of weaknesses as well as strengths. There is no perfect being.
Images- Please use photos of real people when selecting an image for your characters. Drawn or computer generated images will result in a denial of the character application. Signature banners do not have to be real.
Literacy
- All posts must be at least 2 to 3 paragraphs long.
- Please do your best to utilize proper grammar and punctuation.
- Do not Short Post - Be as detailed and precise with your posts so the people you're playing with are allowed to move freely within the story with as many options as they can have.
- Do not overwhelm - Good role play is based on quality, not quantity. Having mentioned this, DO NOT overwhelm yourself, or others, with unnecessarily long posts.
Threads- Characters are allowed to be in more than one thread at a time, though it is advised that continuity is preserved as the character progresses throughout his/her story.
- Character chronological continuity is encouraged.
- Example: If your character is injured in one thread, that injury must be carried over to the next thread.
- Exception to this is if the new thread takes place before the previous or if he/she has been healed in the same thread the injury took place.
- If you begin/join a thread, see through it to its end. If you cannot continue to its end, notify the staff and your fellow players so that the boards are not filled with unfinished threads and nobody is left waiting.
-----Consequences of Violation-----
Violating the rules at any time can, and will, result in disciplinary action.
Remember, the rules have been implemented to deliver a well-organized, mature, and fun-filled environment.
General Member- Violation 1: Verbal Warning
- Violation 2: Verbal Warning
- Violation 3: 3 Day Suspension.
- Violation 4: 1 Week Suspension.
- Violation 5: Deactivation of Account and IP Ban.
Staff- Violation 1: Verbal Warning unless Severe Offense.
- Violation 2: Termination of Suspension of Staff privileges for 1 Week.
- Violation 3: Termination of Staff position indefinitely.
-Severe Offense: Violation of greater proportions. Severe Offenses are treated with instant termination of staff position and account ban.
We understand that some of you may be new to Role Playing and might not understand some of the terms, conditions, or reasons that constitute a violation. In order to preserve all fairness, the Staff will thoroughly examine each violation, if any, as well as the violator in question before making any decisions.
